Oscar Adler & co was founded in 1885 by Franz Oscar Adler in Markneukirchen in Germany. As the first German factory they started producing saxophones in 1901. The first 20 years Adler manufactured very good saxophones with the help of Max and Julius Keilwerth.
Adler offered 11 different models of saxophones from sopranino to Eb contrabass.
In 1959 Adlers was taken over bij VEB and became a part of the B&S company. After the German reunification in 1989 the compay was privatized. The company no longer makes saxophones.
